An agreement has been signed for medical students to conduct internships in Balkars

Authorities at the National University of Mar del Plata have announced details of the work being done to adapt the gas installation at the headquarters of the Manuel Belgrano University Complex and the heating service being carried out at the units.

This plan promotes an additional power grid to supply administrative, permanent and class sectors, in accordance with the following phases: Phase 1: administrative areas. Phase 2: transitional spaces, halls and student centers. They have already started to be implemented this week and have been arranged for a face-to-face meeting with the heads of the Academic Units.

In Phase 1, priority was given and coordinated to the administrative areas, as they represent the longest stays (static activities), they are essential for the daily development of the faculties, they are small spaces, which shows less consumption and allows the process of gradual power supply to be started) and these are areas initially supplied in an additional way to the central system by individual heaters, which are a system that needs to be finally replaced.

For this purpose, individual electric split-convector units of two capacities were purchased, with an environmental thermostat and safety shut-off, according to the survey conducted by each academic unit. The university’s maintenance staff is responsible for its deployment. In order for this system to operate simultaneously, a specific electrical installation is carried out to avoid recharging the existing electrical system, which is not designed to provide this service. The installation must be designed from the central panel located at FCEyN headquarters, powered by the substation located on Peña Street and designed up to the administrative levels of the four academic units.

During the implementation of the first phase is individualized electrical equipment that can power larger and more open spaces. These elements can improve the current thermal condition in common areas, halls, student centers and more. They are elements that use carbon fiber as a conductive element, being more efficient in terms of consumption-productivity ratio.

By virtue of the completion of Phase 1 and the measurements provided by the currently registered consumption, the possible scope of coverage for this stage will be determined. The estimated minimum expectation includes the entrances and halls of the FAUD and CUMB classrooms, the FH and the FCEyN and FCSyTS classrooms. If feasibility is tested, other permanence spaces can be applied.

Work for academic units

Phase 3 provides some coverage in the classroom. The expansion and variety of surfaces, including study spaces, requires coordination with academic units, which provide minimal needs and thus can establish the possibilities for electric coverage. Faculty of Architecture, Design and Urbanism

The initial expectation is to equip three workshops and a CUMB 1 classroom with sub-ceiling modules. Due to the size of the workshops, they are specific equipment that requires precise connection, requires high consumption and has a price that implies purchase by calculating the price. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to carry out an installation that strengthens the current general line, from the common device on Funes Street to the sectional board of the faculty.

Faculty of Humanities

Due to the logic of the spaces, the installation of mobile hot-cold equipment is applied by PHASE 1, which can cover an average set of classrooms. It is envisaged that the largest area can be covered with these funds, in terms of possible administrative power. A new facility that makes FAUD independent will provide more energy for the other three academic units.

Faculty of Health Sciences and Social Work

Due to the recent opening of the annexed Salta plant, the faculty has alternative spaces (which have been requested to communicate with the other faculties concerned). In any case, a unit of 4 large classrooms is individualized to be air-conditioned to provide better academic conditions.

Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences

Due to the fact that this training unit develops mixed tasks in laboratories and classrooms, it works together with the Coordinating Secretariat for the supply of different areas and specific equipment, as it does not include only heating means. The experience gained in the adaptation of biological spaces in 2019 was used, as well as the tools acquired during this process.
