A COMPETITION THAT WAS BOILED

The race started in 2009during the rector of Adolfo Genini, and its creation was supported by the Ministry of Health of the Nation, the Secretariat of University Policies, the Provincial Government, the Ministry of Health of Chubut and the Municipal Health Secretariat, which along with more than 2,000 signatures to support the cause.

One of the first predecessors says that the same year the vice-governor of the province and president of the legislature Mario Vargas asked the National University of Patagonia San Juan Bosco to prepare feasibility study which was later carried out by the University of La Plata. Its result was positive and in 2013 the Supreme Council of the House of Research approved its establishment.

for the first year in 2015, 570 candidates registered. However, only 330 students were qualified to take the course, and about 100 reached the end of the year after a difficult first part in which only two students passed.

While many questioned her career, her ability to train doctors and the way high school students reached university level, the first candidates continued their education, and December 16, 201At 9, Belen Paylalef became the first student to complete her course.

The young woman from Barrelwho studied for the first two years at the University of Comachy, was 29 at the time and took Medical Clinic 2, a yearly course that includes modules in gastroenterology, rheumatology, gastrology and endocrinology and is complemented by psychiatry, neurology, ophthalmology and dermatology.

The end was due to the teachers Martin Gonzalez, professor and psychiatrist Martha Rodriguez, and Belen successfully overcame it. In this way it was possible to do Mandatory final practice (PFO)A 10-month job in which students go through various services: four months for a clinic, two for obstetrics, two for surgery and two for pediatrics, which take turns in the city’s health centers. A total of 1600 hours of practice.

They used his card, a bank in Comodoro demanded a debt of 500 thousand pesos and now they have to compensate him

While Belen waited for the PFO to begin, three other girls completed their university studies. First Melissa Botha and Chiara Archioni, who on February 17, 2020 gave up their last object in the race and became the first Comodorenses to complete this stage at the age of 24 and 25, respectively. And then Noel Ruarte, a young woman who worked as a waitress at the hospital and wanted to go for more.

Thus, on March 2, 2020, the three began their PFOwithout imagining that the obligatory quarantine will be imposed 18 days later.

The pandemic postponed all his plans, just as happened to Lucas, the first Commodore man to deliver his final on March 12.

The PFO pandemic was stopped. It was impossible to imagine exposing students to a virus that at the time was causing more uncertainty and threatening the global health system.

Four years have passed since the sinking of the fishing boat “Rigel”

For several months, the boys waited for answers, and when they did not arrive, they joined national claim of medical students from all faculties that asked to allow them to practice.

Thus, in November 2021, after the signing of agreements between the University and the Ministry of Health of Chubut, the mandatory final practice was restarted at the Komodoro Regional Hospital.

To avoid crowds, the authorities decided to assign the students to different services. So Belen ended up in a medical clinic, Lucas in pediatrics and Melissa in obstetrics and gynecology. While NOelia and Kiara delayed their internships because of motherhood.

Finally, on May 6, 2021, Belen completed his medical practice and became the first graduate of his medical career at the National University of Patagonia San Juan Bosco. She will be followed by her other teammates, including Noelia Ruarte, who finished training and will receive her title at the next gathering ceremony.
